About
Our initial consultation takes approximately one hour and involves:
- an in-depth gait analysis. We take pictures of your dog sitting, standing, and lying down. We take videos of them walking and trotting, and the transitions in between.Â
- a thorough orthopedic exam. We palpate every muscle and joint, measuring range of motion and muscle mass. We feel for heat, swelling, tension, and pain.Â
- neurologic testing. We check for reflexes, weaknesses, and proprioception deficits.Â
- special movement testing. We look for asymmetries, refusals, and rigidity.
- an initial treatment. This may include laser therapy, myofascial work, PEMF, and chiropractic/VSMT mobilizations.Â
- a discussion regarding pain management. We discuss food, supplements, medications, and other therapies
- a home exercise plan and coaching on how to perform these movements
