What to Expect

Initial appointments last about an hour. During the visit, we will prioritize your pet’s health concerns. We will watch your animal move and take lots of pictures and videos. After that, once we have made friends (through treats and scratches), we perform a hands-on examination. Depending on their unique needs, we will formulate a treatment plan and get to work! The end of the session will teach you homework exercises to strengthen and mobilize your pet's problem areas.

Dogs

Have your dog’s collar or harness on, a stash of their favourite treats handy, and all of their current medications.

We will need your help gently restraining your dog for the exam and treatment. Please be ready to help, or have a friend join the appointment to assist.

A discharge summary will be provided within 3-5 days of the appointment with information regarding next steps in treatment, diagnostic imaging, and exercise prescription. If you have a regular vet, they will also get a copy of the medical records from the appointment.

Horses

Have your horse caught, brushed, and in the barn or arena in an area with level footing. If they are having trouble under saddle, have your tack ready, as I will also want to watch you ride briefly.

Some hay cubes or half a flake of hay makes a great treat for standing for treatment.

A discharge summary will be provided within 3-5 days of the appointment with information regarding next steps in treatment, diagnostic imaging, and exercise prescription.
